I think I vaguely remember the Shell Weather Tower. I also remember Robert Estes and Gene Overby.
I remember the WSJS Shell weather tower.WBTV in Charlotte had one as well, except the sponsor was ATLANTIC MOTOR OIL.
Bob Estes was at WSJS radio in the 1940s and went to tv in 1953. He went back to WSJS radio after Gordon Gray sold the tv station. Bryan McMurray was to become promoted head of Summit communications by Mr. Gray. Glenn Scott took over as weatherman.
